Was at a meeting last night and over heard some guys taking about some of the baggers are having trouble with the forks locking while riding. [sm=badidea.gif]
I haven't heard anything about it. Sounds a little hard to believe, but who knows. I guess it is a good thing they only lock when the bars are turned all the way to the left. You have have to be going pretty slow in a tight turn for that to happen.
My Fork lock on my SG broke off (the cap where the key goes in) when I went to go home from dinner one night. It sucked! Called up a buddy, he brought some tools and we had it hot wired in 5 min and we didn't even know what we were doing! Well anyways its a problem with a new suplier of the locks on 06 models. My dealer had three come in so far.
hey mountainkowboy,
did the dealer fix the fork lock, any idea what was wrong with it?
The fork lock on my 02 ultra clasic is not working and if I can, I'd
like to get it fixed asap.
Does anyone have the knowhow on fixing or replacing these locks?
Last week, locked 06 Ultra, would not unlock. It turned but the pin didn't retract. Trailered to dealer, replaced guts. Mine was last Tues. Four more latter in week. Appears they are have problems with the 06's.
Had mine replaced at 500 miles. (06 Ultra) Dealer had trouble with it when I was taking delivery.
Goofey thing would not let me unlock the forks. It's one thing when it happens in the garage, but on the road would be a pain.
