Just stopped by the dealer... Moto Lights installed. Brushed aluminum is perfect match to the front forks and brake calipers. Look great and very unobtrusive. They run off the accesory switch so I can have them on with the high beams. Should be great at night and more visible in the day.
I'm glad I read about the Moto Lights! I thank everyone for their comments. It's great that Freedom Cycle in Wilmington Del (Kathy and Frank are great!!!!) is a dealer for Moto Lights. I'll be taking my Ultra there as soon as I come up with the bucks!!!! I've never seen them before but I think they look great! The more lights the better!!!
I put them on the RG last bike week, they are phenominal!!! I have the 55 watt bulbs and it's like riding at high noon. Get them, you won't know how you saw anything at night before you had them.
Had mine for about a month now. With these early nights, the MotoLights are great. Suckers are bright at night and give u just the different look from the front that might cause some cagers to think twice about turning in front of you. (touch wood, my mouth to God's ears....)
I went all out and got the chrome ones, though i still have the stock lowers. That's my next project... I think.
Can anyone give me a ballpark number for a dealer install on these? I'd appreciate an idea on price. Thanks!
They are very easy to install, just make sure you get the proper kit for HD. I have installed three sets and I have no mechanical ability, don't even change my own oil. Only special tool you need is a torque wrench and a socket to fit that nut holding on the calipers. I borrowed the wrench, bought the socket at Sears. Was a lot cheaper than dealer install.
Basically, you bolt on the lights (one bolt), run the wires under the tank (removal not necessary), attach one set of wires to the battery, plug the other set into the aux plug under the seat, zip-tie everything off and drive away. The instruction they provide are excellant.
Stopped by Freedom Cycle yesterday to get a price on Moto Lights. Kathy's working a price up. Thinking about getting the chrome lowers at the same time. I'll either go with all chrome or if I leave the lowers stock I'll get the brushed.
