Ya know, most people would pay for a new bike from HD that had gear driven cams instead of tensioners. It would keep us from having to do it ourselves.

Congratulations. However, your use of synthetic isn't the reason your tensions are doing well. You basically got lucky. Some synthetic users haven't been so lucky. It's basically a crapshoot. There is no rhyme or reason why some wear faster than others.
I ran my tensioners 52k miles using dino, before taking them out. They still had a lot of life left in them.

They look pretty dead to me
I'm very happy with my gear drive
