Harley has an adjustable highway peg mounting kit -angled- that will fit around lowers if you set them for that. Part # 50829-07 (long angled) & part # 50830-07 (short angled). They sell for $99.95 here. They do not include the footpegs

Well, it seems that both camps have their opinion about which fairing is better. I own a SG but just recently rented a RG and came away feeling that the RG did handle better with it's frame mounted fairing. I did not notice any more wind with the RG over the batwing. In fact, the wind seemed less with the RG and this was with the stock shield. Seriously considering a sharknose conversion on my SG.

Sounds like H-D or a 3rd party needs to do a detailed wind-tunnel test along with a handling/performance/agility test run and put out the conclusive findings!! Something that will never happen. So I guess it's to each his/her own when it comes to the which fairing is "better". Just like seats, handlebars, wheels, etc.,etc., etc........

Fascinating topic! I have experienced significant helmet buffeting on my Road Glide and went to a Clearview shield 1" shorter than stock remembering how well the recurve tamed the buffeting on my Road King. On the Road Glide, the Clearview didn't help much, but the thicker plexiglass didn't vibrate as much as the stock windshield and has resulted in a marginally smoother ride. The 2"extra width of the Clearview produced a quiet pocket for my hands, and that was a good improvement.

I rode a '07 Street Glide for a few weeks as a loaner bike back in November and was impressed that even with the short windshield the batwing fairing did a great job of controlling wind. I think is was at least as good as the Road Glide fairing.

Even though how much I love the ride on my Road Glide, I have found one thing that I miss with batwing fairing. The protection from the wind and cold. I do alot of winter riding and my commute to work is almost an hour each way. I have found that the RG just does not provide the protection from the elements that the batwing does. My hands, and upper body are taking a beating. And the wind coming up from under the fairing makes it worse. I have found myself riding alot less this winter than winters past. I thought of getting a taller and wider shield, but that would mean looking through and not over. Not too keen on that. And I don't even know if that would cure the problem. I really hate the thought of giving up the RG and it's superior handing. It is a great handing bike. But I need to weigh out what is more important. Haven't made a decision yet. But I was in a dealer last weekend eyeing a few EG Classics and Street Glides.

Anyone have an 07 EGC or SG they wanna trade for an 07 RG????
I was suprised you got rid of the SG. It wasyour SG thatconvinced me you can make a bagger look beautiful.

Rented a RG last week for a trip from Miami to Key West. I would have to say that for me the batwing on my SG gives much better protection. This is comparing stock to stock. I especially appreciate the hand protection. Originally considered a RG but didn't want the stupid graphics. After the ride glad I went with the Street Glide.

Get some cheap vinyl lowers, I bought a set for the rain and wet roads to protect my feet from getting soaked and when I put them on just about all the wind was gone, seemed it was coming up from the bottom, got some used hard lowers and that completed the package for me!I like to ride in the cold to,theBatwing will protect your hands better, but I just got a set of hippo hands thatI carry in the bags takes about 3 minutes to install and I'm toasty Don't give up on it yet, just find the combo that works for you! The Road Glide hard lowers have a scallop that is just where your pegs are I think after looking at your pic, they would fit with no problem in that location I think, if not it would be close and those extenders would seal the deal! Heres a photo of my winter setup on the Shark

I have the switchblades and can put my heel on the boards and top of my foot on the main peg with no problems!
Hopepictures helped some Monster
