HAVE A ROAD KING CUSTOM WITH A CORBIN DUAL TOURING SEAT
HAVING A BAD BACK I WAS THINKING OF BUYING A BACKREST
DO ANY OF YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR ME IS IT WORTH THE MONEY?
DOES IT DO GOOD TO YOUR BACK ?
The driver backrest is possibly the BEST thing you could do for yourself. I too have a bad back and a RKC but I have the Saddlemens Explorer II gel seat with the backrest. I wouldn't have it any other way. Don't wait another minute, order it today. Really!

A backrest is a lifesaver for me, and a requirement for any ride >100 miles. Since I tend to have bad posture (slumping) while riding, or any other time for that matter, it is the difference between back pain and no back pain on a long haul. Don't wait, just bite the bullet and buy one. Since they are quite expensive, you might look for a used one on Ebay first. Any Corbin backrest will fit any Corbin seat designed for a backrest, but if you have buttons or other cosmetic enhancements on your seat you may want to match it up with the corresponding backrest style. I can't say it'll relieve your back pain, but it works wonderfully for me.
I use the HD rider backrest. It makes the world of a difference. I do not know if the HD backrest will fit w/ a Corbin. No matter if you can use the HD or buy the Corbin backrest, just do it. You will not be sorry.
I had a Russell Day-Long saddle with backrest on my 96 Royal Star, the HD touring seat with built in backrest on my 02 Dyna, and now have the adjustable backrest on my 08 UC. The only thing I would recommend is get an adjustable one. I find on longer rides sometimes I like to move it a little more forward to sit more upright for awhile, then back again. To me adjustablility makes a big difference.
