Default SERT

Thanks to all who gave me some GREAT info on using my SERT. I downloaded map #78 which matched my set up perfectly. when i checked my spark plus, the seemed more white than tan, so i took the AF and set to 14.1 and they still seemed more white. according to the service manual this is correct color the plugs should be. just concerned it is still too lean. I do what to have it dynoed when i ca find a local tuner i trust, (not my dealer) any comments, thoughts?

Thanks

CLB?
markbuc:

From the SERT User Manual:

The new table that has been added this year is the Closed-Loop Bias table. This table is used toshift the AFR richer or leaner during closed-loop operation. This table is a function of engine speed andmap load. The cell values are the switching voltage that the ECM controls to. A lower voltage will controlleaner, and a higher number controls richer. This table is used by the ECM in addition to the AFR table todetermine what AFR to control to.

Open the SERT map in advanced mode, select the CLB table(s), and set all entries to maximum which IIRC is 798. Make no other changes to the map and upload.

Note: Ver. 4.76 and later software will have CLB Tables for front and rear cylinders. Set to maximum for both!

I have version 4.7.6 and I don't see a CLB table for individual cylinders. There are two tables for the VE, but I can't find any other CLB tables here. What am I missing?

Setup->Basic and Advanced Mode->Advanced Mode

The additional tables will not appear until you change those settings.

I do not have my laptop in front of me, but the clb biased tables are toward the bottom of the tables tab in the advanced mode.

I'm sure a search of the net would yield some in-depth explanations, but a "bit" from the SERT User Manual:

Closed-Loop Operation
Background
2006 EFI Dyna, all 2007 models except VRSC, and all 2008 models, now come equipped with 2
“switching” sensors… also known as stoichiometric sensors. Unlike wide-band sensors which can
measure and control over a wide AFR range (10-20), switching sensors can only control within a narrow
range (+/- 0.5 AFR). This offset in control is accomplished with the EFI Race Tuner by adjusting the
Closed-Loop Bias table.
Closed-loop operation is only used when the engine is in a normal operating condition. There are
several instances when the ECM goes into open-loop operation. These include: warm-up, high load or
high RPM operating conditions (such as WOT), when the vehicle is in Hot Engine Management, or any
time the AFR requested is richer than 14.6. Data Mode has also been updated to read and record proper
Closed-Loop parameters for proper tuning.

A good place to get started on some "in-depth" reading would be here:

OK, perhaps there is a communication error here. I see ONE CLB table. This applies to both cylinders. This is the version

And this is the screen. Advanced mode. Table Selection drop box. ONE CLB table. Right?

That's all I see here. Or is there an update I'm missing?
