Alex, the ones you have from Hogtrough, are they metal or plastic and do they hinge? How difficult was the installation? Any idea how they compare to the ones from Eglidegoodies? A really good price!!

The ones from eglide goodies are hindged but high priced. I saw the Hogtrough ones at two different dealerships. They are made from a thick type of plastic (MYLAR?)that has NO HINGE. It has a small metal lip on the bottom that catches the lower lip of the glovebox. They look to be a nice unit, with one downfall. When you unlock them, you take it off totally. No hinge or retaining cord. As far as the key, any good key shop could key the locks to match your ignition key. That's what eglide goodie does, only you have to send him one of your keys. NOT A GOOD IDEA TO SEND HIM YOUR KEY. He now has your ignition key, to make a copy for himself, and he has your mailing address if you send it to your house. Nice way to lose your bike.
I personally find the storage space in the lowers to be near worthless. My **** gets locked in the truck or tossed into the windshield pouches. I'd not spend a dime on locking covers for the lowers (nothing someone with a screwdriver couldn't get into if they wanted to.....butI could see buying aset of Hogtunesto fill the hole if you want to make better use of the space).
