Thank you to all of you in advance, I love this forum. I am ready to do the stage 1 kit and contacted the dealer. They advised against the python slip ons, said they had trouble with them. Any advice, this is the exhaust I was leaning towards. Dealer also told me that I could not install the pipes without changing air cleaner and some fuel management system. Is this true? I just want the louder pipes (immediately) and figured it would be easy for me to install the slip ons. Lastly, any good place to buy pipes and power commander? Thanks again.

Bullchit! You can do just slipons. If you do slipons and air, then you need fuel management

Someone at your dealer doesn't know what they're talking about. I put Python slip-ons on my 06 RK Classic and did absolutely nothing else. 17k miles later they are still there and on several occasions, out of the blue, several bikers who had been riding behind me have told me they sound good. I've never had a problem with them.
i have oval port v&h pipes there are very nice sound if use in true dual configuation. but they sound nice with croosover pipe too.. best i like is there oval and fill under my bags nicey...
I have Python slip ons on my 05 glide. They put a power commander on at the same time and put a zero Map on it. It sounds awesome other than running rich and popping. The fact that they put a zero map on it should tell you that it didn't need the power commander for the slip ons and now I have to pay someone else to map it. I would suspect they were trying to sell you as much as they could at once. Get the slip ons, put them on yourself, you won't regret it. You might be able to find some in the for sale section of this forum or, on e-bay
I put Python slip-ons on my 07 SG at about 600 miles. At about 1000 miles I added the Fullsac true dual kit. I now have over 15,000 miles on it with no problems whatsoever. No other changes to the engine of any kind. Been as high as 10,000 feet in Colorado and as low as sea level in Mexico. No problems and it's running better now than ever. I may never change.
Ive got an 07 FLHT and wanted more sound from my pipes at a reasonable cost. Ive run Pythons on the three previous big twins Ive owned over the years and had been very pleased with them. I asked the same questions you did to my dealer service advisor and of course got the same song and dance; rolling eyes, comments of "I wouldnt recommend it"ect...I went ahead and ordered the slipons from my local indyand he put em on for free.I have not done anything to the air cleaner or fuel brain at all. My bike runs great and sounds great. Very pleased with the Python slipons. Sometimes dealers want to sell you stuff like downloads, unneeded oil changes and other assorted bullshit.
