Anybody out there have the Garmin Quest2 or the hd garmin conquest unit?? I'm considering buying something for my RG and have no clue what I'm looking at.... seen some stuff on Ebay like refurbished and warranteed Garmin 2610's, etc., etc..... Any help would be appreciated.TIA
As someone else here mentioned, they'll all get you there, so you need to research size & features. Garmin.com is an excelent web site for their features, & I'm sure other manufacturers have sites for their units. For use on a motorcycle you really do need a waterproof unit. After that look for features that you will use, & features that make the unit user friendly. After you decide what units might meet your requirements see if you can locate that model at a local Best Buy, Circuit City, Boaters World, etc. Get an idea of how large they actually are & where it will mount on your bike. Pay attention to screen size, you want as much as you can get without blocking other instruments. Narrow it down to 1 or 2 units you like, then google those units for price or shop ebay, craigs list, etc.
The Zumo is designed for a motorcycle but it is a high cost gps. I have the garmin 2610. I have had it for 2 years. Got it when the 2700 series came out with a bargin price. You can still get the 2610 new for around $200 +- but if you have enough $$$ consider the zumo. Personaly I can't justify the extra cost when I use it very little. Mainly for food, motel/hotel, fuel, and finding a place of bussiness in a town/city I am not use to.
The zumo prices are starting to drop though.
I have the 2610 that I got refurbished for under $300. It like the 2720 are also made for the bike and waterproof, however the mount is not included with the unit......
There are several different models TOM-TOM also has one I've been thinking about a gps myself Ive been looking all over the internet I also want to be able to use it in my truck.
