....be smart...get the best deal Harley has...hands down...the Classic....trust an old time rider...you don't need anything more than what you get on the Classic...
I have the 07 Ultra and guy at work has the 07 classic. He told me he bought the classic because
the classic because he did not like the looks of the leg fairings. But now it is cold he said I wish I had bought the Ultra.. Leg fairings can be removed or used at will and CB, upgraded stereo and speakers and thinks I do not remember for not much difference.
Going with an EG Classic myself. Do not need the CB or intercom. Wife said she can hear the radio just fine so no need for the rear pods. Besides it is just something else for her to ger her foot caught on and break. Lowers I could take 'em or leave 'em. Classic was the optimal choice for me. Can't see spending money on things I don't need or won't use.
Classic has served me just fine. I have no use for CB. Rear speakers would only make it harder for my wife to get on and off the bike. I have added the Harley soft lowers for $59 and they keep my feet and legs warm. They go on and come off inabout 30 seconds.
I was going to trade my 06 Classic for an 08 Classic and when I saw the Ultra 08 for an extra $1500 and everything I want, especially the color, and more, the difference in price was not an issue......
I never used the CB and had no need for one until a large group of us took to riding deep into Mexico where communication w/each other is important. Now I'm glad I have it, but unless I ride w/a group or do long interstate runs I don't use it.
