I have my own "fun money" savings account....the wife knows about it and as long as I can pay my own way she doesn't complain. The hard part is waiting until its built up enough for the next thing I want. Like you, I find this forum hasn't helped me control my spending, but it does help me make sure I'm getting the best of all the options when I do decide I want something.
Mine started before I even came to this site, I think it's something they put in the "Free" coffee or water they give you when you first buy the bike and continues with Saturday BBQ's and the like that they put on for "Free" at the shop.
