That's actually a pretty cool set-up. Especially since one of the bags (assuming a big *** amp is in the other) that's basically unobstructed. I know the speaker will protrude a little in the bag, but still. That's pretty sweet. I'm assuming a set of lid bra's would work in a rain emergency.
No, I won't be doing any of it myself. I just installed my new SSC windshield tonight, and I have encountered a slight challenge. I have the fairing dash pad, same as on SE Ultra, and it covers up where the tweeters are traditionally placed. You can see in the pics. Glideman, I am ordering a connector kit from Ernie at Sound Innovations. He has a kit that is a twist lock kit that incorporates all the speaker leads, power, ground, etc into a one quick disconnect piece. I am attaching a few pics of it here that Ernie emailed me. I would recommend you look into the kit Glideman if you haven't already done yours. Makes it very easy to service, disconnect, etc.
So..Where should I mount the tweeters? I don't want to take off the dash pad because I had to drill the fairing to mount it, so that will leave holes exposed, etc.
Here's a pic of my dash that I'm referring to:

Thanks for the pics. Like what they've done. I have the exact same connectors as those plastic ones (8 conductor with gold plated pin connectors) bought from B&E electronics but didn't like the size of them after looking at where I would mount themsoI havesince bought some molex connectors that are weatherproof. I am going to my buddies shop tomorrow to look at some 4 conductor XLR cabling to run from the amps to the speakers and to carry the patch cord signals. He also has some 8 conductor helix cables that are twisted shielded pairs and a couple wicked connectors he wants me to look when i'm there. I should know more of what i'm going to usetomorrow. Looks like your on the right track my friend. A hot 107" and some boogie tunes...is there anything better?

Sounds like you have a sweet set up planned... I like the speakers om top of the bags, and as mentioned, I think a lid bra would do just fine for covering the speakers, when you get caught in the rain... As far as tweeters go, I am surprised no one has mentioned it. You still have your mirrors in the fairing... you can remove those mirrors, place them on the bars (giving you a better rearview, anyways), and put tweeters in the remaining mirror holes.. I have seen it done a few times on this forum, and look awesome, and might be just what you are looking to do... Just a thought... BTW, could you send me the link to that guy??
I took out the ambient air temp gauge, moved the fuel gauge down and removed the voltmeter gauge and installed a set of Polk tweeters in place of those gauges on my RG since space is tight.
Not a bad idea about the mirrors. I'll defintely think about that. As far as the ambient air temp guage, yeah it's crap so I threw that out and installed an oil temp guage. Plus just dropped some money on the spun aluminum, so don't want to dump any of those guages.
I'm dumping my air temp for an oil temp gauge, but want to keep the amp gauge so I can see what's happening after the stereo's installed. Amp gauge might come in handy then.
