I have seen the Kuryakin (might not be spelled right) tour pack relocator in adds but dont know anyone with one installed. Does anyone have one installed? and how do you like it? I think it adds 2" to the rear seat?
I have the tour pak relocator on my 2005 Ultra, and love it. It adds 2" to the backseat, and my wife really likes the extra room. It is not hard to install either. Good luck.
The book says the enhanced sound system will not work with a detachable tour pak, it says nothing about the Kuryakyn model. You might call an aftermarket supplier like J&P Cycles or Drag Specialties and ask them if it will.
I have the extended kit from Kuryakyn and it's very nice to get that extra room. I noticed a little difference in the ride, but got used to it after my second trip out. The catalogue says that you can't use this extender with the amp underneath the tour pak, but I don't know if there is a work around for it.
I had one installed shortly after getting my '05 Ultra -- and wouldn't have it any other way. The stock location seemed toocrampedtobecomfortableonalongtrip, and now with the extra room, it is comfortable for both rider and passenger. Besides, being here in Houston, we need as much air circulating as possible!
With regard to the amp, I don't have any help for you there. I'm looking at adding the amp for the stock radio inside the front fairing. (Speakers already upgraded to the J & M brand at all 4 corners.)
One other issue I'm going to run into with this is the quick release adapters for taking off the tour pack and installing just a backrest for passenger -- eventually. Anyone done that after the Kuryakyn tour pack extension added???
