This would be very easy to do. My other world is RV'ing and I know of folks that have a hard time remembering that the antenna is up before pulling out. They install a switch on the roof that when the antenna is not on the switch, a red light is lit somewhere in the camper. The only thing is that you would want it mounted somehow so that it would make contact only when the jiffy is in the locked position.
I had an 00' Intruder that had a kickstand indicator so, it does exist. You could probably find all of the parts to do it on e-bay. I would'nt tell anyone that you are putting Suzuki parts on a Harley though. Your'e better off f*&%$*g a goat and telling everyone.

Please post a link...might be a good thing for others. I know my wife could utilize something like that. Her Deluxe is far too heavy for her to "Yank-up from a 45 degree angle" And we have far too much money in chrome and paint to allow a mistake to damage the scoot.
Hell, I even know guys in my HOG chapter that could use it to stop dropping the bikes...they are older gentelmen that probabl;y should switch to a trike...but they don't want to give up the 2 wheels.. Not that I blame them...but at over 70..things get much harder to do for most people.
My dad had an airplane with retractable landing gear. It had a safety mechanism that automatically lowered the gear once the airspeed reached a certain speed.
He always said he could fool it by landing at high speed, but never tried to prove his theory.
Maybe HD could come up with a similar technology. At least an audible alert to let you know the engine has just been turned off and the kickstand is not in place.
Not my area of expertise, but this has got to be better than telling you not to ride a HD ... ymmv.
Whether a buzz/beep/light is not an issue ... pick whatever turns you on/off. You could hide a piezo speaker someplace or put a bright LED in plain site like one of those car-alarm indicators ... of course it will still require you to take your gaze/brain off the hotty bent over refueling her Miata in front of you so you don't grab the diesel by mistake ... DAMHIK. [:@]
Run a lead off a hot-when-running lead and/or ignition-on lead ... probably best through a relay (of course) ...
Switched through a detent switch at the kick-stand up position.
Fwiw, my old/tired/dead V*1100 Custom had a switch at the frame to keep the bike from starting if the stand were down (unless it was in neutral). I may be able to find you a pic if it would help.
