Here's what happened to my service order when I recently decided to buy blemished Wild Ones bars for a mere $158. A simple plan...
Grips are coming off -> upgradeto chrome
Levers are coming off -> upgrade to chrome
Switch housings are coming off -> upgrade to chrome
Lengthening the cables and lines -> upgrade to stainless cables + lines
Changing the cables + switch housings-> add cruise control
Mirrors and fairing cover areoff -> fairing mounted mirrors
Fairing cover is off -> upgrade the stereo to Hawg Wired
Upgrading the stereo -> add XM radio andrelocate am/fm antenna to fairing
Removing antenna from tour pak -> maybe a body shop should plug the holes
If I repaint the tour pak -> (just kidding, BUT I THOUGHT ABOUT IT!!)
I haven't even added up what those $158 bars are going to cost me, but I wouldn't bet on it staying under $3000.
Does this seem like a rational thought process to anyone else around here?
To everyone who's new here, get out while you still can!!!
Don't forget to paint the inner fairing and purchase the dash and chrome bezels for the speakers and radio....Oh and you gotta have the turn signal light bar for the front of the fairing. Hell, why you are there, you might as well install those nifty screamin' eagle gauges.
I hate to even do this, but... What do people think about a painted inner fairing in pewter pearl color? I like the black contrast right now and the way it looks with black gauges. But, I could be persuaded... I haven't yet swapped the air temp gauge for an oil temp gauge either...
Grinner, I answered your PM with two PM's, but hadn't read here first and the pn#'s I provided were only for the black viny cables so disregard those.....except for the one piece 2008 top clamp that you asked about.
New cables activate the clutch...
It needs to be beefed up...
If that is beefed up you will need to upgrade the engine so that it is justified...
You may as well go on and do a 120 like all these other guys who added new bars

I think it would look much better with the matching Pewter Pearl. It's going to get very ugly for me too as I'm about to start a project for a guy that airbrushes bike tins.
