I sold my 07 Ultra and bought an 08 FLTR. Thought I would like a little more wind protection at freeway speeds. Bought the taller HD windshield. Pulled it right back off again. Taller windscreen had reflection issues and buffeting that made it worse than the small one. Because I do a lot of long trips, I traded the FLTR for another FLHTCU but I did like the way the RG looked. Reminded me of some women I have known.
Our local dealer had a great deal on a still new 07 Roadglide. I just had to have it as I've heard they are so good on the highway. It was the orange, one. Well, when I got it home the wife didn't like the color, the passenger seat or the lack of a trunk and backrest. So, back to the dealer and traded it in on an 08 Ultra wearing the Candy Red Sunglo paint. She's at the mall shopping now and I'm hoping when she gets home she likes the color.
I did the same thing on an 03 RG I used to own....Bought the tallest HD shield and it was crap.....
I ordered a custom one from Rifle and was very happy...I think I got it 2-3" taller than HD's tallest......I was very please with the optics, no distortion at all........Can't have distortion like on the HD shield if you are looking thru it......
i'm 6ft. tall and ride a road glide, which puts me looking well over the top of the windshield. i got alot of head buffeting depending on wind direction and strength. i purchased a 1 inch taller clearview windshield and it was like the difference between night and day, i love it.
