I used RED locktite on mine because I have heard of all of those splines stripping out, and if I want to take it off I can use a soldering iron to heat it up first.
Lost one and had one land on the floor board. I used red loc-tite and tightend it to the point that I thought the bolt was going to break, hasn't fell off yet over a year now.
Thanks for the input. Tried the blue loc-tite, hope it stays now. Also, with all the things the dealer threw in when I picked up the bike I never noticed I didn't get a tool kit.
I guess with tis event I passed the new bike initiation? Anythig else I should anticipate?
Have you double checked the saddlebags? Several people have felt around inside the saddlebags and found the tool kit in there (seems like most people are finding them in the left saddlebag). It is a relatively small black pouch so it is hard to see inside the saddle bag.

Fyi...My tool kit was/is in the left hard-bag, you should have gotten saddle bag liners and tour-pac liner also( well that was standard issue with my 07' Ultra). The tool kit ia wrapped in a black fold around pouch. Its minimal but still better then nothing. Take care.
My buddy was in the middle of nowhere when his jiffy stand fell off his Heritage at 70 MPH!
He was lucky that he heard it clank and bounce.....He was especially lucky that he managed to find it on the shoulder of the road and could bend down to reach it while seated....Spring was still attached too.......He had to lean the bike against the garage while he scared up new fasteners, tho.
Call the dealer and ask him what to do. A loose shifter for 800 miles will wear enough to require a little modification before it will tighten down with the bolt. You will break the bolt before it will tighten. None of the Loc's will keep it in place. The bike is just too new to screw it up. Call your dealer.
Mine didnt have the heel shiter when I bought it but it did have the shaft cover mentioned above. The original owner didnt like the heel shifter either. First time I took the bike out, almost slid off the seat trying to find it... I didnt really look before I took off and just assumed it would be there.
