Choochoo, don't they put sand on the roads in Wyo? Ever had any problems riding in Winter? Maybe the rest of us are being too cautious (or, maybe not).

I said I had a toddy. That does not necessarily mean it was alcohol!
Actually both times it was a LARGE hot chocolate!
I don't drink and drive. against the law, dangerous and a DDI ticket would cost me my license and my job.

Sand / salt on roads.
In Wyoming they use only enough salt in the stockpiles (stored outside) to prevent them freezing solid. The amount on the road is actually negligible.
I live on a gravel road so I get a lot of riding in on sand / gravel, I grew up riding on sand / gravel in Eastern Nebraska at the sand pit lakes and along the river.
My gravel road I do upto 60mph on it with no problems. Not everytime or everyday mind you but have done it.
My buddy and i have taken the back way to Chugwater several times. Road is 40 mile pave, 15 mile gravel and then paved again. Do about 40 mph on it regularly.
Roads into and around fishing areas here are mostly dirt roads.
So all you guys (actually thinking of another name) just need to get out and RIDE, ride different types of roads and different conditions.
Have I gone down? Yep many times with varying degrees of damage. it happens.
I would bet a lot of you haven't even got wet riding yet!
Here'ssome pics of one area I rode a couple years ago, will get more updated pics this year.

Last 24 miles to this point was dirt / gravel, last 4 was 4x4 road.

road in front of me couple weeks back, road looked the same behind me for about 1/4 mile

And if you GET OUT AND RIDE, you just might see something like this

or maybe something like this, buds together.

notice the snow above in JUNE

So go have fun get out and ride and screw the super bowl

Huh? You went to a bar to get a hot chocolate, twice? I highly doubt it.

On another note, why is ityou feel compelled to come on here each weekend and bust ***** about how tough you are because you are out riding in the snow and ice? Then you proceed to call names about others who are not riding?

I think the picture below explains your demonstrated persona quite well:

First I don't appreciate being called a LIAR!
Bunkhouse bar and grill. They have HOT CHOCOLATE! and everything else.
T-Joes Bar and grill same thing.
I stopped at Eagles nest and bought a six pack for home!
I didn't come here to bust ***** (which by the way you apparently are lacking same).
It's a motorcycle forum on touring bikes.
I went out and rode! and came here and reported the FUN I had!
I know not everybody is a cold weather rider. I am.
But I also don't accept whiny excuses for not riding.
If you don't ride, you don't ride, no excuse needed

Glad you had a good time. Dont' mind the cold, but I don't ride with snow on the road like one of your pictures has.Of course, out here, when it snows, it's slicker than snot in July because of the moisture content. Yours looks to be a tad more powder like and dry. Here in Washington, you ride on this stuff and you will be going down.
