I don't drink and drive. against the law, dangerous and a DDI ticket would cost me my license and my job.
Sand / salt on roads.
In Wyoming they use only enough salt in the stockpiles (stored outside) to prevent them freezing solid. The amount on the road is actually negligible.
I live on a gravel road so I get a lot of riding in on sand / gravel, I grew up riding on sand / gravel in Eastern Nebraska at the sand pit lakes and along the river.
My gravel road I do upto 60mph on it with no problems. Not everytime or everyday mind you but have done it.
My buddy and i have taken the back way to Chugwater several times. Road is 40 mile pave, 15 mile gravel and then paved again. Do about 40 mph on it regularly.
Roads into and around fishing areas here are mostly dirt roads.

Have I gone down? Yep many times with varying degrees of damage. it happens.

Here'ssome pics of one area I rode a couple years ago, will get more updated pics this year.
Last 24 miles to this point was dirt / gravel, last 4 was 4x4 road.

I think the picture below explains your demonstrated persona quite well:

I know not everybody is a cold weather rider. I am.
But I also don't accept whiny excuses for not riding.
If you don't ride, you don't ride, no excuse needed
Huh? You went to a bar to get a hot chocolate, twice? I highly doubt it.
