Default New Tires

Looking to buy new Dunlop 402 WWW tires for my electra glide. I have decided to shop on line due to the absurd prices the dealers want for tires and have narrowed my search to either TireExpress.com or AmericanMotorcycleTire.com. Both locations have excellant prices and are colse to each other. AMT states on their home page that they only deal in factory new tires;no seconds and no blems. Has anyone bought tires from these places and were you happy with the deal and the service as well as the product from either of these places. Thanks

One of things I have learned about tires is that they have an expiry date. One of the reasons you can buy tires on the cheap is because they are past the date. Even rubber has a life expectancy. Who knows how long they have been sitting on someones shelf since they were produced.

So much rides on those 2 tires! I'd be very careful, if I were you. Sometimes, you really do get what you pay for.

Thanks, that's good advice. I'll be sure to check the exp. date when they arrive.

With that being said you can get the same tires from a dealer. Alot of the online places don't carry stock and that's why the prices are so much cheaper.

I have ordered from here SouthWest Moto Tire with FREE shipping if you order 2 tires at a time. They ship reletively quick also.

I have yet to see anyone beat Ron Ayers prices. I have ordered from them 3 or 4 times and always had great service.

I have bought tires from AMT and found the service, product, price and promptness in shipping to be very good. Unless something happens to change that, I wll continue to get my tires from them.

Regards,

Bill

You might want to consider the Metzeler ME880www. Those will be what I will be putting on next time. They HAVE to be better than the Dunslops. I had Metzelers on my last bike and they were like night/day.

I am going to be due for new tires for the eglide soon. How do the Metzlers differ? (Tread life, handling, wet weather?)
Thanks

Tread life will go down compared to Dunlops as stated because they are a softer compound. The handling will better for same reason, unless you only ride a straight line. I know the Metzlers on my sportbike are great during wet weather so I would guess these would be the same way.
