Default ABS Option price

Hi all,...

I ordered an 08 Ultra while deployed to the desert but have to wait until June to take delivery. They just emailed and said they have one in stock with my color and all the options except ABS. What can I expect to pay at a local dealer to have ABS installed? if the price is not too much more than getting it with ABS from the factory, I might get my Ultra way earlier than I thought

thanks!

andy

ABS is not a dealer installable option. If it was, it would be a whole lot more than factory install because I think the main wiring harness is different, along with running all of the hydraulic lines back to the controller under the seat would make it pretty pricey. The brake calipers, lower fork legs, hubs, etc. are different also.

You will not regret the wait. ABS is fantastic. I have had my scoot for three months, and in the 3500 miles twice I believe ABS saved me from either hitting another vechicle or definately from locking up the brakes and possibly worse.

Wait for a ABS Ultra. You will not regret the wait first time you actually have use for the ABS brakes!

I agree with the others. Wait for the ABS model. My BMW has ABS. It saved my bacon a couple times in wet weather.
