ORIGINAL: Bill03EWell if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.
The PCIII and V&H - based on what is to good to be true ??
The thing about PCIII and fuelpack is they are not closed loop. The advantage of the Terry thing (if it works) is it is closed loop and learns, just like a T-max with autotune. But, you don't have to replace the original ECM.
Already done...It's called the Thundermax autotune by Zippers.
Yes, but Tmax autotune you have to replace the ECM, this works with the factory ECM. And, I think cheaper once you add Tmax and autotune together. If it works.
A question about Tmax, does it support all of the factory ECM functions, like cruise, miles till empty countdown, alarm, etc.???
Yep, the Tmax supports all the factory ECM functions that are on the 06 Ultras. Have heard nothing about not supporting anything on the newer models.
CoolPeacemakers with autotune is one of the combinations I'm thinking of for pipes for my SG. I like the idea of quiet to get out of the neighborhood, and quiet on long highway rides.
How long does it take autotune to adapt between the changes, and when in open mode, do the Peacemakers add much performance, or is it more just a cool sound thing?
The TVII did a lot of things for me. Unfortunately it was determined that mine had a flaw and I just sent it back. My engine was running quite hot. Plugs were too white. TVII says their units definitely do better and I must have a bad one. We'll see.
I just popped on a set of O2 IED's by Nightrider ($69) since taking my TVII off while waiting for a new one. The IED's dropped the temperatures of the cylinders by as much as 100 degrees. Now my front is 244 and my rear is 250 measured just left of the spark plug with an infrared thermometer.
might want to do a search on terminal velocity ll in the efi forum on this site, there is a pile of info on this product ,I have read most of it and most riders that have used it say it seems to deliver what the company claims, others say it is snake oil because it uses narrow band o2 sensors which don't have a enough tuning capacity ,what I get from all the threads I read is if you are only going to do a free flowing air cleaner and free flowing pipes it will be okay,if you plan to do any more mods than that it may be out of the tvll's league and it isn't able to adjust,I only plan on pipes and air cleaner so I bought one from Zanottis ($403.08)it was an easy install ,won't be able to test until spring,I am optimistic that it will deliver ,but at the same time keeping my fingers crossed.
The first one I got was before they were plug and play and you had to solder it into the wiring harness. That one had problems low speed and idle problems. They took it back and sent me a new plug and play FM220Q. Except when that one arrived the computer case of the unit was cracked and I didn't even install it and sent it right back. Then they sent me the present unit I just returned.
