They used to come factory installed in black plastic but definately worth the little cost now. They really keep the head buffeting to a minimun and make riding much more pleasant on my Ultra.

I put a chrome one on and sold the black one to a forum member for 10 bucks

i just put one on my bike the other day as far as I can tell its free and clear of cables. will check it again tonight when i get home

I decided take a ride this past Saturday. It was only 30 that morning, so needless to say I had on all of my cold weather gear. I was fine except for the rush of cold air that I was getting from under the fairing. I stopped by the local dealer and decided to buy the fork air baffle as well as the soft nylon lowers for the crash bar. What I difference. It cut down 85% of the wind and really made it comfortable to ride, even in the cold air. I ended up riding for another couple of hours. Some of the best money I have spent on my SG.

Just went and took a look, my cable is run to theinside of the crash
bar not close to the baffle. From your pic, looks like placement ofclutch cable is in wrong. Mine is not near baffle.
