anybody ever bought one of these after market tour pac ? if so how do you mount on a street glide 189.00 compared to 700.00 hd price. or are they just junk ?
I put one on a detatchable rack and it is great.I have link to ebay store where they are 100-125.If you only use for trips spend the other 500 on other things. I asked here and it was pretty unanimous.Ride safe,Dbear.

I like mine, and I like the way it looks on the bike. Mine was 189 painted pearl black. No, its not as heavy duty as the HD one, but I only use it a few times a year, and it suits my needs fine. Some day I will go for a chopped tourpack, but in the mean time, this one is serving me well so far.
I bought one for the same reason as Steveh. They are not as nice as a HD tourpac, but if it spends 80% of the time on the shelf, only to be used on trips Why not? BTW, lots and lots of metric guys use them with very few problems. I have mine on a HD detachable tourpac base and it works just fine. I did go to a local sheet metal shop and have a plate cut to go under the box and it helped a bunch.
