Broke my ankle 3 weeks ago slipping on stupid ice. How lame is that? Tried making up a story about snorkeling off the Great Barrier Reef and was bit by a shark but that didn't fly.
Anyway, got back from the doc today and should I be healed up inabout 3 weeks. Currently, starting to walk on it with the help my my extra legs know as crutches. Thank goodness as it will be heading into good riding weather soon. Can't wait to get back on my scoot.
Yep, a fracture. Doc said if you're going to break your ankle this was the way to do it. No surgery or full cast as everything was lined up nicely. Just using an air cast.
Glad to hear you'll be back on your feet soon. If it had to happen, better to be during the winter than to have some other type of fall during the riding season.
It could be worse, I broke my ankle in 2 places over 41 years ago GOLFING on the daybefore my wedding day in good old Butte, Montana. To make matters worse I was golfing with my future Brother-in-Law and my brotherand I slipped on wet grass trying to beat the sprinkler which was still running on the 1st fairway near the tee box. I slipped after swinging and missing the ball since I wasn't wearing golfing shoes and tied myselfup in a knot and my ankle buckled underneath me and crack, crack and down I went with the sprinkler hitting me with water on each revolution until my golfing partners came back to see why I was lying on the ground and couldn't believe what happened. I had a cast on for almost 9 weeks. I hate golfing.
Oh man bummer that really bites, sorry to hear that, from the tittle though I thought you were talking about till Daylight savings time, it comes early this year on 3/9
I feel your pain I tored my achilles tendon in 2004 while playing softball running around first base, I had to have surgery to repair it , then three months in a cast, then another two months of rehabilitation. The most pain I have ever felt when it tored.
I remember dwelling about not been able to ride my motorcycles....hang in there man it will be over before you realize...
