I'm getting ready to order a Fatcat from Shooter 64 but as usual can't decide on a couple of details. Both are questions that get asked often, but I'm really on the fence and appreciate hearing others feedback. One of the reasons for the black or chrome questions is that the Fatcat has a matte black finish vs the black gloss that my lowers and engine guard has. It would be nice to have a glossy black but I think I'd have to powder coat a chrome one to getthat and I'm not interested in taking that extra step.
-Should I do a black or chrome Fatcat? (I should add that HOPEFULLY the bike will have these 21x18" wheels on it by next week. Six freaking weeks as made to order.)
I don't think ya can go wrong either way. I just prefer chrome myself. It's such a nice looking pipe, it just stands out better being chrome, IMO. But either way, you're gonna love it!
Arent those wheels gonna have a matte black finish? I would go with the black pipe but thats just me and I already did on my Pewter Denim SG. Black Bassani Muffler with Silver ceramic head pipes.
It's strictly personal taste but since you asked I think the chrome would look better on your bike. IMO, the black loses the benefits of the fine fit and finish of the Fatcats.

That sounds pretty cool. Sure would like to see a picture of your bike!

Does not cost that much to have your pipes powder coated. So another option my be to order chrome and if they don't trip your tigger have them powder coated. I ordered chome fat cats for my Ultra and I think I am going to have the muffler portions powder coated (glossy) and have a combo chrome and black pipe. I am also blacking out my front end, the combo pipe I am hoping will add some contrast. Anyway, just a thought. Good luck with your project. BRO
