ignition alignment tool
Anyone actually have one of these?? I would love to find one. Form the drawing in the service manual it looks like a pretty simple piece - if any of you machinist types would like to start fabbin some I'll buy one in a heart beat. Would be great to be able to unlock the neck with the ignition out.......
bigredone is right--all you need is a flat blade screwdriver in the right width and length. I had to experiment with a couple of different ones but I had one in the tool box that did the trick.
I have an 07 SG and have removed the ignition switch at least 10 times in the last 2 months most recent last night, on mine if I do not turn the wheel all the way over to the left I can pop it off without locking the forks and will be able to move the bars as much as I like, as long as I do not turn them all the way to a solid left. I did one time, they locked so I reinstalled the swithch moved the bars a little to the right popped it off again and was good to go.
I don't know maybe I was just lucky.
