Alright guys another question. I went ahead and bought the bassani power curve headers and the cfr mufflers for my 08 SG. Now by my reading of other posts I will be needing a fuel management system correct? I was wondering which system is preferred amongst you guys. I am pretty mechanical and can do the pcIII or is it too much hassle and just go with the thundermax. But then the problem is when isthe thundermaxgoing to be out. I want to be ready to ride by april when the snows gone. And I also will probably need a different air cleaner to go along with this? any recommendations would be excellent. I know you guys have all the knowledge and I am learing so much new stuff every day. thanks for all your help!!
so if I get the BS and install the headers and mufflers and the pcIII, do the dyno thats all I should need. I don't plan on changing mufflers or air cleaners once I have it all installed. Otherwise the thundermax would be the ticket to save money if I wanted to change things?
Thanks,
Jason
T-Max is a great device but they ain't yet fingered out how to make it work fully with the '08 bikes.....You will lose certain features with it because it totally replaces the ECM and the newest T-Max still lacks some functionality there.
The PCIII USB is also having some problemson the '08's, in that it piggy backs the factory ECM, and the factory ECM fully controls the amount of power the engine can develop......Wide open throttle on an '08 ain't wide open throttle unless the ECM sez so, and it hardly ever sez so.......It's throttle by wire, not cables, so even tho you twist the wick, it ain't gonna deliver **** to the Power Commander to act on unless all wide open throttle conditions are met....Which won't happen unless you are headed uphill with three fat chicks in your bags.
Ask Jamie at Fuelmotousa.com.....He sells both and can describe the problems with both on the '08's...He's yet to get an '08 with PCIII and drive by wire throttle to fully open the buttery fly even on the dyno under max load.

If you're NOT going to do any more up-grades to the engine then a simple stage 1 - I would go with the V&H FuelPak... Easy install & Set-up - No Dyno needed and has worked GREAT for my needs so far & cheapest of the 3....
