Default Idea for mp3 install beside using RAM mount?

I plan topurchase a Sony mp3 player this week and install it on my Ultra. Any good suggestions for mounting itto the bike besides the RAM kit? Was hoping for something costing less and a little more creative. Thanks

2 Wheel Tunes has nice mounting plates that mount to the grip housings, they have velrco then that keeps the MP3 player on the mount. Everyone that carries 2 Wheel tunes has them...

Tech Mounts has what I think is the totally coolest mount, but its a little pricey. I got one to mount my Zumi GPS and I think it looks way better than the "industrial" looking RAM mount. Tech Mounts are fully articulated and they have many different styles and lengths.

Good Old Kuryakyn has a new handlebar accessory mount, and they have a clutch/brake mount version also

I hope these help you out. I've got a Tech Mount and 2 Wheel tunes on my bike already. Oh, one warning, remember to take your MP3 off when your not using it, I left mine on and a fast moving T-Storm came in and soaked it. It took 3+ weeks for it to dry out, and thankfully it still works.

I have a Scandisk MP3 and I bought a neopreem (sp?) cover also came with a arm band. I wrapped the arm band around my brake area and zip tied it in place. I since this photo was taken, have zip tied a black cable from the stereo to the MP3 to replace the white one. I now can slip the MP3 on and off the wrist band if I go in a store or want to use it somewhere else.

I use this stuff everywhere. My I-pod Shuffle, Garage door opener(keychain sized) small tool kits. It really holds.

I use an ipod mini - mounted to my bike just left of the radio.
I used heavy duty style plastic velcro on a rubber grommet.
Its mounted on my air temp gauge - I dont use it and its not accurate anyways.
The rubber grommet is almost the same diameter as the gauge glass and the width is about 3/4 " so the ipod doesnt touch the inner fairing.
It has just the right amount of play to let the unit float and not take any road shock - and no - it doesnt fall off - that plastic velcro is tested to like 150 MPH!
I buy my velcro from these guy's - there helmet cams are excellent - I use one on my snowmobile.

I also use the SD card on my Garmin Zumo GPS - With the ipod and the Zumo - I've got way more tunes than I need.
Hope this helps you out with your mounting options.

I have the Kuryakyn one shown above. Works great with some industrial strength Velcro, to mount my Pionneer Inno XM receiver/MP3 player. Easily switchable to mount either side of center, at any position on the bars, and very nicely chromed to match everything else up front. No pics yet... sorry.

Go with the Ipod Nano 3rd gen and then buy the mount that one of the forums members sells, I'll have to look up the name. It mounts to your switch housing on either side of the bike. It's a really nice fit for the bike and makes it easy to operate the ipod while riding.

Bobby Gilbert makes this mount. I love it. I have since sent it out to get it chromed.

This might be a stupid question but I'm going to ask anyways! Once youhook upyour Ipod to the stero do you even need access to it any more? Doesn't the screen on the stero act as the Ipod once hooked up?

The reason I'm asking is because I was planning on 1st buying an Ipod, 2nd placing the Ipod in the windshield pouch once it's hooked up. Is my thinking wrong here?????
