Looking at the bike you have it should have the silver motor/jugs and that is a problem when it comes to getting any kind of shine. With the black motor/Jugs there are some products that you can spray on them and get a little shine.
Planned on having the silver removed from the heads and cylinders and have them polished.
I don't care for the dull silver look too much. I may still go black, dunno.

You might go the opposite route. Since it seems you are planning to remove them to do whatever you are going to do, you can buy a couple cans of Harley wrinkle black spray paint. Use some pinstriping tape, tape off the fins, and spray the wrinkle on. You will need to have some sort of heat lamp, to get the wrinkle to, well, wrinkle. The black motor looks really good, then you can polish up the fins... If not, have you thought about sumax? Powder coat them to match the bike (unless it is black, then use the spray paint or powder coat black). With the spray paint, however, you might have to redue it every couple of years, but if you are like me and have more time than money, it is a good way to go...
