I'm in the same boat as you with the "decision". I've got a bunch of 'T' Bag stuff I can use so I think I'll run with that for awhile and put the price of a tour pack to better use on some motor stuff.

I have two, a chopped and a King tour pak. Started out with the chopped because I like the look of the smaller pak. But after a long camping road trip I bought the King tour pak. So, now I am prepared for any kind of trip. I have both sets of docking hardware as well, solo and two up. I love the solo for long trips, it makes the tour pak a great backrest!

I was planning on buying one before Sturgis this year but since I am not doing Sturgis (can't swing it) I might get one before Laconia. There is a seller on Ebay that is selling generic ones (or I might look for a scratched/scuffed on and fix it).

But I am definitely getting on. The extra space is worth it.

I have the detachable king pack and really like the flexibility that it offers. I still like the sweet street glide look without the pack on but for long trips and/or two up it is awesome. Wife really likes the big comfy backrest also.

I have the king tour-pack (detachable). If you go ahead and purchase one I would also think about gettting a tour-pac wall mount for storing it when your not using it, helps keep it from getting scratched up.

JUST BOUGHT A 2007 SG , IT HAS THE LOW PROFILE PACK WITH A QUICK DETACH. LIKE THE LOOK OF NO PACK AND FOR TRIPS COULD SURELY USE THE EXTRA SPACE. jUST HAVE TO GET THE ANTENNA THAT MOUNTS IN THE FAREING. pERSON i BOUGHT BIKE FROM HARD WIRED ANTENNA SO IF PACK COMES OFF YOU LOOSE THE ANTENNA FEATURE
