I have finally decided to go with the 08 SG, after changing my order from a deluxe, Heritage, and the RKC. Can't really explain why I finally landed with the SG, but I liked the looks and the way it felt in the seat...anyway here is my question.
With about 4K in my budget for extras, what would you all recommend putting on the SG by priority? I'm new to being a Harley owner and have read lots of posts and have seen lots of bikes that have what I am looking for, but wanted to hear from you all on what you would put on or have put on your new SG.

RE: 08 SG Add Ons
Excellent choice, you're gonna love it! I hope you got black, cause everybody know that's the fastest color. When I got mine I had them do the basics; intake, exhaust and a sert, since I knew I'd be doing other "stuff" eventually. Just ride it and enjoy, you'll figure out what you "need" soon enough. Good luck
Take your time and enjoy the ride, as you see more bikes like yours you will then start to do add ons. I am on my 5th HD and still adding things. My 08 SG is still at the dealers to much snow and ice to bring home right now. Good luck and ask a lot of ???????

pistons, heads, exhaust, cams, AC, Fatcat, SERT, Tune up I allways go with performance first, you maychange your mind about cosmetics a couple of times before you decide on a theme...
I would say pipes, sert, air intake, and then get the bike to fit YOU! Handlebars? Floor board adjustments? Seat? Brake pedal? Shift lever? etc.... Most of all do what YOU want to do, not what others tell you what to do.
I did the big bore kit, sert, Rhinehardt True Duals, Tour Pak and chromed the front end. The big bore kit is covered under warranty since I had it done at purchase. I figured that was a good start!
Pipes, air cleaner, fuel management are at the top of my list. The customize as you go over time and see stuff you like and/or need. 4k seems like a lot now but it goes very quickly so spend as wisely as you can.
mainly depends on what you want but basically you have 3 choiceserformance, comfort/storage, and bling bling. personally i went with stage 1(rhineharts, SE air cleaner, and download)then with backrest and tourpack (got good discount at time of purchase). didnt see much outta the download so i have SERT ready to be installed when weather gets better. think about what matters most to you and go for it...you can always do more later.
