OK.... I'm an older guy and an older rider, I just hope this type of feedback will help the younger guys, maybe the new HD owners save a few bucks and learn a little about their bikes. My day was WAY before all the computerized crap on bikes and high priced everything from the dealers. I can remember walking into a dealer and getting advise IN the shop, they even showed you things on the bikes they were working on. Times have changed. But I would like to see the younger crowd and the "my kids are grown crowd" that they can have a little knowledge BEFORE they walk into the dealers. Dealers are in the business of making money, God bless them, but we ~ the consumer ~ MUST hang onto our cash. At any rate, even a little knowledge is worth something. The sevice manual is worth SO much more than some chrome or MOCO T Shirts........... Hey, do you EVER see Service Manuals out on the floor, NO you don't. only shinny crap and clothing............. thats where their money is. Sorry for being on my soap box but **** all I ever read is about buying this and that................LEARN from some of us older SOBs, chrome is like frosting on the cake, NOT the cake.

[sm=deal.gif] The Ready Reference Torque Values booklets are priced right at $6 also to compliment the service manual and parts manuals
Where can these be bought if they aren't a harley item? Any book store or auto parts store?

The service manual thread pops up frequently buts its the one thread I don't mind seeing repeatedly. So many people who buy bikes don't even give it a second thought. And like the author of this thread post's, its more valuable then a few pieces of chrome.

I bought both our current bikes new, and part of the negotiation process was 2 T shirts and a shop manual. As stated, the HD shop manual is a must-have.

I didn't know about the torque thingies either. But then, there are only 8 bolts that require a torque wrench on an Evo.
