Default Cylinder Temp Variance

Curious if anyone knows the normal cylinder temp variance between front and rear cylinders on the touring models.

I think that 20-50 degrees would not be unusual, unless the mixture and timing is changed for the rear cylinder to bring them closer together.

Just checked mine yesterday. Air temp was 53deg. and front cyl. was 275 and rear was 320.

I was checking at the spark plug area. Also checked exhaust outlet area and the spread was the same.

This was within 2-3 min. of shut down after 30min ride.

I have 08 RG with Fuelmoto/Rush slipons PC111 and Fuelmoto map.

Boiserider:

That's running Hot. On a 53 degree day with a fuel mngt unit you should be running down in the 200's. I would talk to Jamie about that.

Don't know if it applies to newer models, but I had a temp guage on the rear cyl of my '80 FLT. With head or tail wind the rear was hotter, if a side wind the ran pretty close, if I kept feet on the floorboards it was hotter, highway pegs cooler. Air flow made a big difference (295*-260*). Air temp made little difference.
