Last year I saw an 06 SE Ultra Classic in the Dallas Morning News for $24000 with only 1200 miles on it. I saw the same ad in the Houston Chronicale with a different number on it. I called the number and got a voice mail. Guy called me back a week later. Said the bike was now in Indi. and I could fly up there to see it or I could use an escrow service that will hold the money until I recieve and inspect the bike. If I wasn't happy they would send my money back. The escrow service was used by a friend of his. Ha Ha. The website for the escrow service looked legit but it was set up by the guy that had the phantom bike for sale. You send the money, you never see a bike or your money. The guy with the ad owns the bogus escrow service.
I have seen the same guy advertise bike after bike in the Houston Chronicle. I reported him to the FBI and never even got a response. BUYER BEWARE, IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT PROBABLY IS. T.
1of2 your good....why didn't I think of that....Seen a scam like that before...had a couple of
emails with the guy...once he said he was out of country...BINGO!!!!! You ever notice that the
scammers always indicate the bike is in a town in the middle of nowhere. Makes it hard to
view it without alot of expense.
Notified eBay accordingly.....they pulled the listing....
It may be a scam, never know. I don't think I could chance it unless I was real close. I have a buddy that always gets sweet deals like the one above. We all tell him it's a scam and he never gets burned. I get burned every time!
I know two buddies that had they're wives fight for and win their old mans bike in the divorce settlement. One of the women sold her old mans loaded, 2 year old Ultra for the first $10 grand and sold it almost immediately. Someone got a great deal.
The other women let her boy friend ride it up and down the street in front of her ex-husbands house to kinda rub salt into his wounds. They taunted this ole boy every weekend and I thought there was going to be a murder. My buddy saw the bike at walmart and filled the crankcase with brake fluid. Funny thing is he ended up with his bike back, changed the oil and continues to rack up the miles on it. Old Evo is tuffer than it looks.
