Default passing lamps

have a 2008 e/g classic and noticed that my passing/aux. lamps are set different. the left one is aimed a little lower than the right one. is this correct or are they out of adj.? taking to dealer in few weeks for 5k checkup and wanted to get opinions before i got the "stock" answer from hd. thanks

At 25 feet, the left aux light should be nearly centered and under the headlight as shining on a wall. The right aux lamp will be pointing to the right and below its own center alignment. In other words the aux lights should be aimed below and casting to the right with the left under the headlamp.Sounds like your pretty close where they are now.

scoobs is right, I have mine pointing out to each side a little more though- lights up the sides of the road better for me, especially cornering at night

I have both mine aimed up and towards the shoulders of the road on each side. I want as wide a path of vision as possible. At a certain distance aheadthe left onealso catches the eye of oncoming cars. That's been a noticeable advantage to me in that I never seem to have cars cutting or turning in front of me. Not that it will never happen, but so far in 70,000 miles I've not been cut off in city traffic. I also attribute in no small part that fact that my spots are amber - they seem to really stand out to oncoming traffic. When riding a m/c that's the name of the game: BEING VISIBLE...
