Default Need bar suggestions

Hey everyone,

I have an '08 streetglide and today I put 350 miles on it doing a pre-ride for a our hog chapter. I had dual carpal tunnel corrective surgery about six or seven months ago. I didn't notice it until today but my arms are not level when riding the bike and I am putting quite a bit of pressure on my hands. I am gonna need to put a set of bars on my bike that are about 4" taller than what come on the SG stock. A guy in our small group today said alot of people but the heritage bars on there and that would get me pretty close to what I need. I love my bike but I'm definitely going to need to address my bars. Also when I replace the bars the grips will be blocking my view of the fairing mounted mirrors. What if any options do I have for the mirrors. Any help/advice is GREATLY appreciated.

I'm in the same boat, I just have not found the "right" set. I called a buddy out in SoCal and asked him to make me a set. Should have the preliminaries in soon. If you want some off the shelf bars check out baggernation, and cyclesmiths both have great stuff.

The bars I am looking at are Paul Yaffe monkey bars. You will have to take the mirrors off and put regular bar mounted mirrors on. Google Paul Yaffe and go to bagger nation, parts, then bars.

Ive had the wild1 575's and they do pull you bak a lil however they don't raise you like the 13" apes do .. These are the bars for comfort and they do look nice. I have a thread going check it out 13" baggernation apes.

No more back pain

There a lot of threads here about 08 SG bars.. A lot of people are going to the Kromewerks bar, and WildOne Chubbys, 513, 515, 575's.
I have heard about the heritage bar, but haven't see one or found the measurments for one yet. I have the same problem, and so do a lot of my SG friends..

I also want to keep my fairing mirrors..
08 SG bars 7.5" height.. 31" wide... 12.5" pull back.. 11.5: center..
I need about 2 inches up.. 2 inches back. and a turndown at the ends.

Maybe someone here has some bar measurments that come close..!!

OH and 5"10", 195 lbs and sit on a new Mustang solo..

Thanks guys. I'm going to call around tomorrow to see about getting them swapped. I may try the baggernation 13" apes. That's an inch or two taller than I'ld like to have but it looks to be fairly close. I'm also going to go on ahead and chrome the switch housings and put on some good vibration dampening grips. Any suggestions on the grips? Thanks again.
