FLHTCUI Fuel problem ?
Hello,
I'm a new member from Oakland, Ca.
I have a problem w/ my 2000 FLHTCUI. Its runs
intermittently. [:@]
It will idle for few minutes then stop.
I won't be able to restart it right away - it will start after
while though. I believe it's the fuel filter. I understand the
fuel filter is inthe tank.
Is the fuel filter difficult to get to and change ???
Its there an easy way to check & see if it's the filter...
Is there a fillter and a sock also ???
I've also seen in this forum that it may be the Engine Temp Sensor in the front cylinder head...
Anyone else had this problem ???
I have about 20 k miles on it...
You input is appreciated...

Had a similar problem on a 95 Ultra. If its cold, no problem. Get it hot, all kinds of intermittant problems.
I would be running down the road and it felt like it was running out of gas. If I even moved the throttle at all, it would start to die. Almost got me killed out in traffic once. It might do this two orthree times in an hour and then maybe run ok for the next couple of hours--very intermittant!
The problem was the temp sensor between the heads. Its a bitch to get to, have to pull the tank. Take it to a dealer and have them look for a code set against this. Yes, even the old '95 had a computer on it.
That is wherewould start looking.
