Default OK, New Experience

Now here is something I have never done before on a bike. Cabin fever is running rampent here in Cincinnati and winterfinally decided to take a break. It's 50 plus degrees and I am gonna take a ride. I am out for bout an hour and decide to head home on the freeway. Lottsa traffic and I am in the slow lane doin 70 with people passin me and all of a sudden I see brake lights in front of me and one guy pulls off in the emergency lane then right back on. I now see why everyone is acting freakin goofy. There is a 30 foot aluminum ladder straddled across my lane and I don't have anywhere to go! ****! now what do I do? not enough time to manuver around it so I decide to go over it [:@]

To my amazement the bike went right over top it like nothing happened. I pull over to check the bike out and of course the dumbass that didn't have it lashed to his truck right comes up and asks if I am alright. I said yes except for needing some new underwear I am OK. The bike looked fine and I went on home. I had just finished reading some riding tips about what to do if you are about to hit something and I can assure you the best advice is not to over react, cuz I sure as **** couldn't have made it around this damn thing.

Pics of the seat where you pinched the foam out of it.

Glad you're OK. Did the ladder come loose from a secure state or did the ownerfail tosecure it down in the first place?

It was secured but not very well, obviously.

My seat looks like one of the new 105th anniversary seats (brown strip down the middle)

man you made me sh*t my pants just reading the story. you always try to run through your mind how you would react in certain situations but you never know how you'll react until you're put into that situation. sounds like you passed!

Yeah, but you know what was going through my mind was that I wasn't going to pass. I though I was dead meat.

Glad to hear you handled it like a pro and you're ok.

I remember the same thing happening in jacksonville florida about 10 years ago and a Ford Explorer hit a ladder and went right off the bridge they were on.
