Default chrome front end

I have all the parts for the chrome front end, and checked out a link on the install. Seems easy to do. Am I missing anything? Has anybody done this? What problems can arise?

Me and a buddy did mine...... 3 hr job. We took it out of the triple tree (Which means dissassembling the inner fairing and ignition switch.) If you have the ignition switch tool, your life will be alot easier, but we messed with if for about 20minute with a screw driver to realign the housing.

If you don't have the compression tool, we just used a table vice to hold the rod as we pushed/threaded the springs back in.

Some say you don't need to take it out of the triple tree, but........we did..alot easier to work with...

Good Luck, and it's doable!!!!

Just curious...why did you disassemble the forks? Lowering kit at the same time?

I just did my chrome lowers, fork oil swap, and got rid of the left fork cartridge (02-05 FLHT's) on Sunday. Took me 3-4 hours, and it looks so much better now.......well worth it.

Since you are just swapping out the lowers for chrome.........it's even easier since you don't have to remove them from the triple-trees.

Would have been faster but I took my time, and I had to run to Home Depot for my PVC pipe seal setter.
