How many of you guys out there just want to be heard when someone cuts you off, and how many have them installed? I just bought the chrome stebul nautilis air horn for $45 bucks and am about to install it. 120 db. cant wait to use this for the first time on some 4wheeler that happens to be on the cell phone cutting me off. the middle finger and the horn should do the trick. I always used to pull the clutch in rev high to let them know I was around them and that they just pissed me off. just wondering if anyone has pics of there bikes with the air horns of any style on so i can check locations for it.
u really want to scare 'em just install a Mac Truck Air Horn...
Imagine the look on their face when they hearthat hornand
that theycould have been fatally RAN OVER BY A BIG RIG
(because theyweren't paying attention) and then seeing
just a lil ole bike.....LOL
I have Revco air horns. I took them off the origional bracket they came with and mounted them on an L shaped piece of 3/16 polished aluminum mounted to the front 2 bolts of the jiffy stand. The horns are different length which works out perfect. The trumpet edge is just forward of the engine guard. I used almost 5 ft. of 1/4 in vacume hose to route from compressor, under seat, down the right rear side of engine, along the inner frame rail across the front of the oil pan to the horns. Sounds complicated, but I made it with simple hand tools and it's out of the way and the sound is in front of the lowers.
What I would really love to have on my bike is a steam whistle with clouds of steam coming out when I blow it (I'm also asteamera railroad fan). Talk about an attention getter! I guess a live steam generator may be over-the-top for a motorcycle, so I'll settle for an air compressor to power it. Maybe figure out a wayfor the compressor toblow outsome talcum powder to simulate the steam.
I picked the wolo 519 for my bike, it mounts in the stock location and it'sloud!
Here's a link with some sound clips but you can get a better deal on ebay - http://www.wolo-mfg.com/air.htm
sorry i don't have any pics of it on the bike yet.
I used the mini beast also. It is not a semi horn, but is way louder than stock and can be heard well on the highway at speed. Enough to get you to hang up your G@@##* D@###@@m Cell phone and drive!!!
