on my softail i wired the tailer harness direct into my rear fender harness with quick connects. what to put horness on my street glide and what Ive been reading is some people recommend a relay isolation package so that the lights won't interfere with the bikes functions. went to my local dealer and they told me that they were just adding the harness like i had done with my softtail. what do you guys suggest?
I would really recommend getting a harness with the relay. Bushtec sells a good one, but there are others too (check J&P Cycle). Even if the the load from the trailer doesn't blow a fuse frequently both the bike and trailer lights will be much dimmer than when you use a separate power source for the trailer.. I run a Bushtec trailer and have used their harness and relay on my last 3 bikes.

if your bike is a 2007 or 8 you ("MUST") use relays for the left and right turn signals so you don't load your computer with the trailer lights! You ("MUST") do this period"
Don't ask how I know this, I was the first person to hook up trailer lights on an 07. That should be enough said"
