How do you guys that run these like them? I thought I hadsettled on TH slips, then I came across a videoon YouTube of the Hookerson a King...and I really liked the sound.I know they have the tuneability options...Which settingare they louder,TQ or HP? I've read some guys run one in TQsetting, and the other in HP...
I have em'. Love the sound.Don't likethe "mega" phone look. HP setting is WAY louder than torque. Wanna buy em? (right one is starting to tint a gold color) I am looking at the FuelMoto/Rush PC3 deal or I really like the sound of Rineharts.
I have them on my 05 Electra Glide. With the stock headpipes, most say to run the left side at TQ and the right side at HP, this causes them to run more like a 2 into 1. If you set them both at TQ, its not much quieter than if they were both at HP and you will notice a decrease in performance. I set mine left TQ right HP. They do sound awesome but you can always hear them be it at 5mph or 80mph. No other pipe I have heard has the deep tone that the hookers do but I'm now looking for something thats a little more quiet because I think I'm going deaf from them. If my bike were only used around town though, I'd definately keep them they sound the best IMHO.
had 'em didn't like 'em, too loud in any configuration and made a huge dip on the dyno between 2000 and 3000 rpm. tried every setting.... no diff. fixed with V&H 2-1
Got 'em ... like 'em. They can rumble real nice or be loud, depending on how hard you hit it. The tuneable settings make minimal difference and none if you do a good dyno tune. I tied them to Bassani PowerCurve headers and fed the air through a Doherty PowerPACC. No dip in torque at all. As a matter of fact, I have an almost straight line torque that peaks at 87 on my stage one TC88. Not bad, huh? Almost unbelievable for dual headers. The Hooker slip-ons should not be blamed for bad torque. It may be the other equipment or just a bad tune.
I like the deepness of the them, my Ovals are the same way but the reason I'm taking them off is they don't have enough volume, hence the reason I wanted TH's. Are the Hookers comparable to those in volume?
Hey, The video that you are refering to is of my bike, I absolutely love my Hookers. I now have the Slash Cut Hookers installed on my bike instead of the straight cuts but they sound the same. Hookers IMO are the best sounding slip ons made for a harley. they have the deepest and hardest hitting sound of everything I've heard on a "stock" motor. Sound even better with a built engine. As far as power, They have given me a real "seat of the pants" boost that I definitely noticed over every other pipe I've tried and I've tried ALOT OF PIPES. Before my Hookers I had a set of V&H Big shot duals and they sounded good but sucked in the performance dept. Then I switched back to Hookers and have not looked back once!
