Default Progressive 412 vs 440

Hi all... I posted this in the suspension section also, but didn't get a ;arge response, so If you saw this twice, sorry!!

I did some searching on the forums for this, and couldn't really find a good answer. I hate to beat the topic, but here goes.....

Is anyone running progressive 412s on a touring bike? I am going to lower my bike for the simple fact that I am not flat footed. First, I considered the HD low profile shocks, but obviously everyone thinks progressives are a superior ride.

I want to put 11.5" shocks on. I can get the 412s much cheaper than the 440s. Cheap is definatly up my alley. I will also be lowring the front 1".

Any pros or cons on the 412s as opposed to the 440s? THanks for all your help!

...I've been considering the same move, but with 12" ones to drop just an inch...from what I've heard most use the 440's, but the question usually is wether to go with the regular 440, or the Heavy-Duty 440. I'm curious too what the "ride" difference is with 412's. Every time I start thinking about going for the 440's...the price of em stops me...I do 90% solo riding and the OEM's aint THAT bad...

I can't tell you anything about the 440's but I can the 412 ....

I have them on my Ultra and i feel its the best move I have made yet...

They seem to corner better no bottoming out and the ride is better... mabe a little stiffer at low speeds but the over all ride is much better at least to me.

The wife said it was much better ride for her also and she rides 99% of the time with me....

I used the 412s , they lowered the bike and improved the ride 100%. I'm happy ,and so is the wife.

Thanks for the input everyone! I'll probably go with the 412 11.5". Only other question is.....Do I need a tool to adjust those, or can I dial those in. I thought I read on their website that they are adjustable by turning, but then I read somewhere on here that the 418's are the only ones you can di it with? Thanks!!!!

You'll need the tool, but the shocks come with one.
