My 04 RC has the stock seat and I want to get a solo. I am 6ft2 and lanky and find that the stock seats force me forward about three inches more than I want to be.
Can anyone reccomend a solo that would give me that additional three inches or so?
I'm the same size and hadthe same problem but went with Mustang solo - loved it from the first sit-down. Great seat and good price. A little lower and quite a bit more leg-room forward. I wouldn't say 3 inches of difference but plenty for me.
Take a look at the way they're styledand you'll see... there's not much of way to get any more scoot-backthan a Mustang unless you'llnever attach the pillion and have a custom seat made that puts the butt-bumper even further back.
The Corbin definitely sits you back a bit and lower which I like. But remember Corbin is a very firm (borderline "hard") seat that to some is very comfortable and to others is a torture contraption. Seats are very difficult to recommend as "comfortable" is defined by the individual more than most things.
I'm a Corbin fan and find them very comfortable and of excellent quality.
i've got the C&C solo and the Saddlemen solo too.....................
The C&C placed me back at least 2" if not more and made me wish for more reach on the bars.....Plus that sucker is hard as a rock.
The Saddlemen pushed me closer to the bars than stock but really sits good compared to the C&C.
Isuggest you call the guys at C&C.....They are the only quality seat makers I know who will make exactly what you need and do it cheaper than the rest....At 6'4", you don't need to sit lower, you need to sit back and be comfortable....That opens up a lot of room for the guys at C&C to design you exactly what you need, and they are about the only ones affordable who will work personally with you.....I'v got 2 scooters and six seats, so I know these things.
If i had it all to do over again, I would have worked closer with C&C and been happy from the start.
