Couple of different options from the Harley catalog and Zanotti's is said to have the best prices around. You might also consider the Mustang Seats backrest - very adjustable, great quality, and a little less expensive than the Harley product. Here's one on my '08 Road Glide:

I gather from the Mustang site that you can't just use thier backrest...you need to buy thier seat also? Or am I reading that wrong?

It adjusts with a thumscrew just below the pad in front. Very easy to reach back and move. It has almost a 2" range of adjustment, AND pivots with your back. The HD does not. The ANGLE of the backrest is determined solely by the forward/backward adjustment on the HD.

Seriously, get the Mustang. I've tried both the adjustable and non-adjustable HD backrests. They both suck. Almost NO_ONE is ever happy with the angle. There are exceptions of course, but by and large, I have read mostly displeasure with the HD offerings, especially the adjustable. (which is my experience also) They both lean way too far forward even at maximum rearward setting. The Adjustable especially a joke. It goes from bolt upright, to having you laying down on the tank. Plus, the Adjustable is amost 3 inches thick! (front to back) If you have someone on the back, they have to be wedged in there. My wife is only 5'4" and about 130 lbs, and there was no way she could ride back there with the adjustable backrest on. See the photo below. The one on the right is actually an Ultimate seats backrest. The Mustang is even thinner than that one. The one on the right is the HD adjustable.

One think I have found, is that what seems GOOD when you casually try it sitting on the bike, Becomes CLEARLY too upright once your ten miles down the road.

No. That is true for the 2 piece mustang seats, where the backrest fits into the driver seat itself. But the backrest for the ONE piece Mustang seats fits into a receiver you bolt onto the fender under the seat, just like HDs.

I have the standard seat and went with the standard adjustable backrest. I bought it at a local dealer last year when they had a 20% off everything sale.

Is it worth it? Heck, ya! [sm=yeahsmile.gif] It is like riding a new bike. Really supports the back.

Guess I am blind as a bat. Can't find a mustang backrest for my Ultra on the mustang site. Anyone got a link to it? 2008 Ultra is my bike and has the factory seat.
