I spent a little time this weekend putting on some new floorboards, shifter and pegs, brake pedal, etc... Went with the chrome and rubber HD matching pieces. Just thought I would check to see if any of you have found a good way to clean pieces that have chrome and rubber together....seems if you use something for the rubber it messes up the chrome....chrome polish makes rubber look like crap. Is there any good way to make both look good without having to spend a lot of time with Q-tips?
Yeah, but it seemed to give the rubber a gray look....maybe there is still something on the rubber from the packing material?? It was a bit later last night when I finished up, so I didn't try too hard....tried windex, then some Cycle Care leather/rubber conditioner, and finally a spray detailer, either the rubber would look good, or the chrome would, but couldn't get both to look good at the same time.
Hi
Try this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ti66BFtuBYI
The wife bought this for me last year. I use it on everything leather, glass, paint, chrome, rubber -
I have used it on everything on the last two bikes I've owned, A 2000 Indian chief & the latest 08 anniversary road glide.Paint chrome rubber even the windshied. Never had any delaminating on the shield & it works like rainex. After every ride once the bike has cooled down I spend about 15 mins with this stuff & the bike looks like a showroom model again
The product is BOM by Professor Amos products. If the link doesn't work just google it
