I can't believe I did it but I picked it up Saturday. I did the 50 mile break in and took it for hooker true duals tuned flow, air breather and remap. I get it back this Saturday and can't wait to put on the remaining break in miles. It rides sweet and handles wonderfully. However, I did scrap the jiffy stand a couple of times on some left turns. Has anyone else had this problem?
I do some grinding on mine every now and then, but its not a biggie. Congrats on the ride, what color, better yet, post some pics. Dem is sum purdy motorsickles!
Congrats on the new ride. Welcome the the land of baggers. I srape the jiffy stand every now and then when the roads are dry and windy. I can't wait for winter to end and the roads to dry out.
I'll post some pics after the true duals and bullet trim rings are added on the turn signals. I looked but haven't seen anything else that strikes me to customize...there are some many standard features already on it. I'll add pegs to the engine guard but that's about it.
I wont get a true dyno read until my 1,000 mile service. The guy doing the job said he'll recheck everything then to make sure it's dialed in.
The only bad thing is trading in my fat boy and road king to get the bike. The fat boy was something special. 6 gallon stretch tanks, wide beach bars, custom candy apple red paint, chrome everything. The road king had the 95" kit and ran great and was chromed out as well. But the fat boy was my first bike ever.
Congrats! As you know, the SE Glide is LOWERED from the factory. One of the complaints is that, based on riding style, it may not be to your liking- (Don't lower any touring bike- one author wrote in his review). I know 1 guy who actually took out the lowering kit from his. Cool on looks- but the drag factor is a bummer!
I've been seriously considering lowering my EG but after reading about others scraping boards & stands I've now decided against it. I tend to really get into the "lean"...
