RE: Tried every brake bleeding method.....now what!
+1 for R/B the master cylinder. You said there is "no more air" so it must be the mc isn't pushing out enough fluid. May God help the 08s with ABS. You said that from day 1 the brakes were poor. Also an indication of a bad master.
RE: Tried every brake bleeding method.....now what!
Just a thought, is there any way you have a master cylinder for a single disc? If so it would have a 1/2" or 5/8" bore when you need atleast a 3/4" bore to push all the fluid required for the 3 piston PMs. If you pull it apart to rebuild, measure the dia of the piston.
RE: Tried every brake bleeding method.....now what!
ORIGINAL: BOARGAURD
This has happened twice and after a rebuild kit it must have been bad o-rings. Works great now.
BOARGUARD........WHEN YOU SAY O RINGS, DO YOU MEAN IN THE M/C OR THE CALIPERS? If its the calipers, i called PM and the told me to mail them back for inspection (as per GRIMINATORS reply). If its the MC that needs rebuilding, i'd just assume a good excuse to order the Joker Style King controls.
DeJavu.......Its the oem master so it should be 11/16
Bertk.....of all the methods of removing air from the system, the "Reverse Bleeder" looks to make the most common sense. Thanks
Thanks to all who replied as its nice to belong to a forum where you get an anwser in a 10 hour turnaround. A very good brotherhood!! I'll keep you all posted
RE: Tried every brake bleeding method.....now what!
Just done mine using the reverse bleedingmethod...that is slick! half an hour and mine was done! I will never use the conventional method again! Good Luck!
RE: Tried every brake bleeding method.....now what!
I say put it back to original, bleed as good as you can and take it back to dealer and let them fix the master. You've had it in for that already so it should be a no brainer.
RE: Tried every brake bleeding method.....now what!
I had a similiar issue with my Hawg halter. I had to take the caliper apart and press each piston in one by one, pushing the air out. While a buddy was pressing the pistons I pumped the brakes. It took about 20 minutes to do, put the caliper back together and it been good to go for 2 years.
RE: Tried every brake bleeding method.....now what!
Had problem with brakes on funnycar one year and learned this trick.I fell reservior up, attach a line to bleeder run it into can with 1/2 inch os of fluid.open the valve up and pump the brakes.usually 3 or 4 fills. On last pump tie off lever and close system.Has never failed me.And with catch can having fluild keeps from sucking air plus no fluid lost.Jusy my trick if want to try.
