Get Lyndall pads (95% less dust and better stopping)and just brillo every 4th wash , do agree with the spoke yes mag no said above though. I preferr the WWW and profile spoke rims myself.
I hate white walls. It's the year 2008. Whats the purpose of white walls. I was trying to decide between the EG Classic and Street glide. The was one of the reasons I went Street glide!
I just replaced my withes for blacks on my '06 Classic, with Mags. Yes, whitewalls will show dirt, grime, etc. If you ride in the rain, or on dirt roads, or on regular roads, they will get dirty. There are a number of good suggestions for cleaning them. My personal favorite was Wesley's Bleach White (sp?).

Black wall tires for mag wheels, white wall tires for spoked wheels. Thats just my opinion.

the TIRES were a deciding factor? [sm=wtf.gif]
either way- WWW's are a PAIN IN THE AZZ to keep clean. A LOT of work, but theyre definitely worth the effort. they look awesome.
i agree with eglidetrike, but i have to say that WWW's look great on 9-spokes and RK Custom wheels too.
if i were ever to get 9-spokes or RK Custom wheels, i would DEFINITELY keep the WWW's, no doubt
Its all personal preference. If you like white walls....get em. Just be prepared to keep after them with Bleach White> OR>....I hear that WD40 on a rag is great for cleaning them too....but I've never tried it cause **I THINK** white walls are for old farts.....

It's also a monetary decision. Whitewalls are usually more expensive. For example the thin whitewall Dunlop D402 series tires are $20 more than the blackwalls in the HD catalog. I know who buys tires from the stealership?
