I think it would be great to have a "sticky" place for all the tips and tricks we all use so new people can easily find them.
Such as:
1. How to remove and install a Road Glide fairing.
2. How to install detachable hardware.
3. How to install Street Glide rear facia on a Road Glide.
4. How to change the oil without making a mess.
5. How change grips
6. How to change bars
7. How to install a PCIII or other.
etc, etc, the list goes on.
This would save a new person from having to search so much for this information.
Waste a little time and go to this bmw f650 site just to check out the their tech faqs. Factory bmw mechanics use this site for a reference. (except the "what oil to use" debate ) There is info on everything from front fork mods or valve adjustments and fuel injection to detailed tire recommendations.
I'd love to see something like that for HD. Easier then seeing the same cam chain tensioner, muffler, true duel threads repeated over and over. A definative place for fuel injection would be a big plus
I get is Terry. Just thought we might have a few that are touring specific. I doubt most HD owners care about fairings or detachables . . . BUT, all touring owners do.
There is a "technical section" that has tips , how to features etc. I am slow, what were you looking for?
This section would be permanently located "stuck" at the top of the touring section. There are several GREAT how to threads that members have posted but are now lost within all the other posts. Even if you search, you would be lucky to find them.
No problem Steve but I spent all night last night getting rid of stickys. Each section was getting taken over with them. There is a whole section dedicated to Tech Articles. If anyone has something they want put in there they just need to write it up, take pictures and send it to me or Grover.
